IPSTC STAFF HONOR NATIONAL TREE PLANTING DAY

The IPSTC fraternity joined the Nation in planting close to 5,000 trees at our Humanitarian Peace Support School campus.

In line with the Environmental Soldier Programme that allows KDF to play a role in climate change adaptation and mitigation, we remain alive to the cause by planting as many trees as we can, in contribution to the Country's target of 15 Billion trees by 2032.

COMMANDANT BIPSOT VISITS THE HUMANITARIAN PEACE SUPPORT SCHOOL

While in the country attending the 27th IAPTC Annual Conference, the Commandant Bangladesh Institute of Peace Support Operation Training (BIPSOT), Maj General Nasim Parvez, paid our Humanitarian Peace Support School (HPSS) a courtesy call visit.

He was given a cordial reception by the Commandant HPSS Col Rongoei, and marked his visit by planting a tree at the School's premises and gifting the School with mementoes.

CURTAINS DRAWN AT THE 27TH IAPTC ANNUAL CONFERENCE AS IPSTC DIRECTOR BECOMES THE NEW PRESIDENT

With over 280 delegates in attendance from over 60 nations, the 27th International Association of Peacekeeping Training Centres (IAPTC) annual conference came to an end.

Kenya, being the first nation in the Eastern and Central Africa region to host the conference, speaks glowingly of our continued commitment to contributing to peace operations matters.

The outgoing President IAPTC, Major General Nasim Parvez, credited IPSTC for the remarkable organization that enabled the conference to be successful. He also conveyed his many thanks to the IAPTC for their overwhelming devotion and cooperation during his tenure as president. He signed off by thanking the delegates for their insights and expertise, and congratulated our Director, Brigadier Joyce Sitienei who is the incoming President, wishing her the very best.

In her inaugural speech as IAPTC President, IPSTC Director Brigadier Sitienei took on the challenge of making transformative steps in conjunction with the IAPTC to enhance the capacity and capability of peacekeepers.

General Officer Commanding Border Command, Major General Mohammed Hassan, also graced the closing ceremony and was thrilled at the prospect of analysing the deliberations that came out of the conference.
 
The conference came to a crescendo with the Cabinet Secretary Ministry of Tourism and Wildlife, Dr Alfred Mutua officially closing the 5-day event. In the spirit of this year's theme, "Leveraging Partnerships in Training for Complex Peace Operations Environment", the Cabinet Secretary called upon the military, police, civilians, women, youth and humanitarian organizations to contribute to the pursuit of peace and security collectively.

We were honored to host this esteemed event, we believe that the bonds and partnerships created during the conference will indeed enhance training in peace support operations environment, and we look forward to seeing the fruits of our never-ending march toward global peace and security.
