WOMEN LEADERSHIP FOR PEACE AND SECURITY COURSE

The Women Leadership for Peace and Security course commenced today, 08 Nov 2021, at the Humanitarian Peace Support School, Embakasi. The two-week course is sponsored by the Government of Japan through UNDP (Kenya).

The course was officially opened by Brig. J C Sitienei, Director, IPSTC. In attendance were senior officers and the Lead Facilitator Daniel Wathome. 

The course has a total of twenty-two participants from diverse cadres namely the Military, Police, Prisons, and Civilian organizations. 

The course is designed to advance the tenets of UNSCR 1325 on Women, Peace, and Security.

THE UNITED NATIONS DISASTER ASSESSMENT AND COORDINATION (UNDAC) INDUCTION TRAINING COURSE

The United Nations Disaster Assessment and Coordination (UNDAC)induction training course was officially opened today 19th September 2021 at HPSS Embakasi.

The course aims at developing the skills required of UNDAC members in emergency response missions around the world. It consists of 34 participants and 11 facilitators drawn from 25 different Nationalities. The two weeks long course will culminate with a simulation exercise within the Amani PSO Village.

The ceremony officiated by the head of the , United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) Regional Office For Southern And East Africa (ROSEA), Ms. Gemma Connell. Also in attendance was Director IPSTC Brig. Sitienei, Commandant HPSS Col Nadio, Chief OCHA Response Support Branch (RSB), Ms. Edem Wosornu.

TRIANGULAR PARTNERSHIP PROJECT HEAVY ENGINEERING EQUIPMENT TRAINING OF TRAINER AND INTERMEDIATE COURSE

The official opening ceremony of the Triangular Partnership Project Heavy engineering Equipment Train the Trainer and Intermediate Courses were officially opened today at HPSS Embakasi. The Courses have a total of 34 participants drawn from Ghana, Kenya, Uganda and Sierra Leone .This is the 17th Course to be run at HPSS under the TPP since its inception in 2015. The Humanitarian Peace Support School (HPSS) has trained 80 per cent of all TPP participants. The ceremony was graced by Director IPSTC Brig Sitienei, The GOC Border Security Command Maj Gen Radina and the Guest of Honor was the Director General United Nations Office in Nairobi (UNON) H.E Zainab Hawa Bangura who officially opened the Course.
