The course, conducted in French, brings together participants from Rwanda and Cameroon to enhance their tactical expertise, modern search techniques, and situational awareness in mitigating threats. Colonel John Rongoei, Commandant HPSS, on behalf of Brigadier Joyce Sitienei, Director International Peace Support Training Centre (IPSTC), reaffirmed HPSS’s commitment to equipping trainees with these essential security skills. During the launch, H.E. Matsuura emphasized the critical role of counter Improvised Explosive Device Training (C-IED) capacity in peacekeeping operations and reaffirmed Japan’s strong support for the United Nations Triangular Partnership Programme (UNTPP). His visit also included a tree-planting ceremony, symbolizing Japan’s commitment to environmental sustainability and international cooperation.
