On 24 March 2025, the Humanitarian Peace Support School (HPSS) hosted an insightful deliberation meeting with the Senior Manager of Canada’s Counter-Terrorism Capacity Building Program, Courtney Black.

The session focused on the school’s vital role in promoting peace and security, with particular emphasis on its specialized courses designed to counter the growing threat of Improvised Explosive Devices (C-IEDs). She was given an in-depth overview of the school’s mission and the diverse range of courses designed to enhance the capabilities of military, law enforcement, and civilian personnel in peace support operations. The training offered plays a crucial role in strengthening global peace efforts and equipping professionals with the skills necessary to navigate complex and high-risk environments.

Deputy Commandant HPSS Lieutenant Colonel Kaptuway emphasized the structured approach, which combines theoretical instruction with hands-on, scenario-based exercises to ensure trainees are well-equipped to handle various security challenges effectively.
