The Security Sector Reform (SSR) and Disarmament, Demobilization, and Reintegration (DDR) course commenced on 5 May 2025 at the Peace and Conflict Studies School (PCSS). The course is designed to deepen participants’ knowledge and understanding of SSR and DDR objectives, frameworks, and processes, enabling them to contribute more effectively to related initiatives in peace support operations.

Colonel Emma Ngigi, Commandant of PCSS, expressed appreciation to the Swiss Government and the Swiss International Relations Defence for sponsoring the course.
Ambassador Mirko Giulietti underscored the importance of the training, stating, β€œSupporting security sector reform strengthens the rule of law. The security sector must integrate the specific needs of the population as a whole.”

The course brings together 29 participants from 14 countries, reflecting its broad international reach.
