The Women Leadership in Peace and Security Course is currently ongoing at the Peace and Conflict Studies School (PCSS) in Karen.
The two-week course is sponsored by the Government of Japan through the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and has 30 participants.
WLC 2
The course aims to equip and enhance the participants’ knowledge, skills, and attitudes on the importance of effective women's leadership in promoting peace and security, thereby enabling them to serve as agents of transformation within their respective spheres of influence.
WLC 3
The course is structured around key thematic areas including a contextual overview of peace and security in Africa, gender mainstreaming in peace and security, women’s leadership, and normative legal frameworks, as well as the critical roles women play across various stages of conflict.
This initiative not only builds individual capacity but also contributes to broader efforts aimed at strengthening gender-responsive peace and security frameworks across the region.
