DIRECTOR IPSTC JOINS FRENCH ARMY IN COMMEMORATING THE VICTORY OF AUSTERLITZ

218 years later, and the French Military Academy of Saint Cyr continues with the tradition of commemorating the Victory of Austerlitz worldwide.

The academy, founded by Napoleon Bonaparte in 1802, has lost over 10,000 cadets since the battle at Austerlitz. The cadets, referred to as 'Saint-Cyriens' were the first cadets from the academy, who died for France during battle.

The battle which took place on the 2nd of December in 1805, was at the Heights of Pratzen, and thus the Saint-Cyriens are honoured at the top of a hill or of a building.

IPSTC Director Brigadier J C Sitienei joined the French DA, Lt Col D Brisset, IPSTC's SO1 Plans and Programmes Lt Col Serriere, 3 Swiss Officers from IPSTC, 5 current cadets from Saint-Cyr and 1 student from the French Embassy, in commemorating the day on Ngong Hills.
