IPSTC HOSTS THE 27TH IAPTC ANNUAL CONFERENCE

The 27th International Association of Peacekeeping Training Centres annual conference is officially up and running in Nairobi, Kenya. The conference is proudly hosted by IPSTC.

His Excellency the President of the Republic of Kenya and Commander in Chief of the Kenya Defence Forces, Dr William Samoei Ruto, officially opened the Conference under the theme, "Leveraging Partnerships in Training for Complex Peace Operations Environments "

His Excellency spoke extensively on the impact of conflict on the social, economic and political institutions. He lauded the efforts of the military, police, civilians, academicians and researchers involved in Peace Support Operations (PSOs), and embraced the multidisciplinary approach to solving conflict.
He also spoke at length on the impact of women in conflict environments and their crucial role in driving PSO strategies. This he said was key in ensuring a democratic, equal society, where everyone has a role to play in mitigating conflict.

The Cabinet Secretary Ministry of Defence Honorable Aden Duale, also present at the opening ceremony, reiterated the steadfast dedication to peace and security that the KDF has shown over the years. He was thrilled that the conference would enable delegates learn from diverse and rich experiences and leverage the power of shared knowledge.

Director IPSTC Brig J Sitienei was not only thrilled about hosting the #IAPTC27 but also the opportunity it presents to strengthen the PSO community through forging partnerships that will foster peace & security by sharing best practices.
