The Security Sector Reform (SSR) and Disarmament, Demobilization, and Reintegration (DDR) Course is underway. This course aims to enrich participants' understanding and knowledge of SSR and DDR objectives, frameworks, and processes. By doing so, it equips them to make significant contributions to SSR and DDR initiatives within peace support operations.

Colonel Emma Ngigi, the Commandant of the Peace and Conflict Studies School, emphasized the critical role of SSR in post-conflict environments. "Reforming the security sector is essential for consolidating peace and stability. It not only promotes poverty reduction, rule of law, and good governance but also extends legitimate state authority,” she emphasized.

The course has participants drawn from diverse countries namely; Argentina, Burundi, Kenya, Somalia, Egypt, Morocco, Seychelles, Sudan, South- Sudan, Zimbabwe, and Zambia.
