COMMENCEMENT OF THE FEMALE ENGAGEMENT TEAMS TRAIN THE TRAINER COURSE
The Female Engagement Teams Train the Trainers (FET T3) Course commenced today at Humanitarian Peace Support School, Embakasi. The course is scheduled to run from 15th to 26th November 2021. The Opening Ceremony was graced Col I K Guleid Col Plans and Programmes IPSTC, A LT Col C J Blakey Deputy Commander and Chief Planner BPST, and Lt Col Lawrence Gichuhi Deputy Commandant HPSS.
The course has 22 female participants made up of military and police components with AMISOM experience representing Burundi, Ghana, Nigeria, Uganda, Sierra Leone, Zambia, and Kenya.
The aim of the course is to build a pool of qualified trainers and mentors who can sustain FETs capacity within the mission, given the frequent T/PCC rotations, to strengthen professional and institutional capacity in Africa.
The expected outcome of this course is to confirm participant’s knowledge retention and establish a common threshold before commencing with the training of trainer’s content, to enhance the participant’s capacities to impart knowledge and skills to the other stakeholders, and to provide the participants an opportunity to practice the skills obtained during the FETs T3 Course and to confirm their ability to meet the requirements of a FETs trainer.
