HPSS Visit Feb2020

IPSTC fraternity was privileged to host His Royal Highness  Duke of Gloucester, Prince Richard Alexander Walter George on Tue 11 Feb 20 from 1600Hrs.His Royal Highness was escorted by the British High Commissioner to Kenya, Mrs Jane Marriot, UK Defence Attaché  to Kenya, Brig Mark Thornhill and received on behalf of the Director IPSTC by Col Manjewa Mzee, Commandant HPSS, Col Joyce Sitienei, Col Plans and Programs, Commandant PCSS, Col  Maghanga, Head of Research Department, Col Mwagonga and other IPSTC staff.

The Commandant while welcoming His Royal Highness, noted that the Institution was honored  and privileged to host the Duke of Gloucester and informed him of the critical role that the Institution plays in training, education and research informing Military, Police and  Civilians on all aspects of Peace Support Operations in the region.

The Royal highness was taken through the various Counter-IED equipment and drills and subsequently briefed on training of CIED personnel in the region.

On his part His Royal Highness thanked the trainees for the wonderful display and wished them the very best in their future deployments.

Gender Pso Jan2020

The 13th Gender in Peace Support Operations (PSO) course was held from 03 - 07 February 2020 at the Peace and Conflict Studies School (PCSS), Karen.The opening ceremony was graced by the Director, IPSTC, Brig R A Elmi; two Ambassadors – HE Frans Makken (Ambassador of Netherlands to Kenya) and H E Javier Garcia De Viedma (Ambassador of Spain to Kenya). Ms Carolyn Kenney from the Office of the Under Secretary Defence Policy at the US Embassy represented US-AFRICOM.
