IMPROVISED EXPLOSIVE DEVICE DISPOSAL COURSE

The Improvised Explosive Device Disposal Course which commenced on 07 September 2020 came to an end today 02 October 2020. The course comprises of 16 participants drawn from 10 ENGR BN. The closing ceremony was graced by Commandant HPSS- Col M K NYAANGA MBS ‘ndc’ (IND) ‘psc’ (K) ‘jscsc’(RSA), accompanied by Deputy Commandant - Lt Col Gichohi, BPST (A) representative and facilitators from ISSEE.

The course aimed at equipping the participants with knowledge and skills on safe disposal of IEDs to facilitate the other two C-IED Pillars (Defeat the Device and Attack the Network).

On his keynote address, he noted that the training was basically targeted at helping IEDD operators to accurately make swift threat assessments and decisions during C-IED operations especially in regard to their disposal. As IEDD operators, they will also be required to provide advice to commanders at different levels in regard to disposal of IEDs.

He expressed his gratitude for the continued support by the British Government to the Kenyan government in different training platforms through BPST (A).
